It is not the best pizza in Melbourne – that argument has too many contenders to settle here. But it is the best pizza on Lygon Street, and for a street that needed someone to raise the standard, Garfield Pizzeria has done exactly that.

Carlton is a short tram ride from the CBD. Tram routes 1, 6, and 96 run along or near Lygon Street. Melbourne Central Station is a 15-minute walk south. Street parking on Lygon Street is metered and often full; Cardigan Street and Drummond Street have more availability. The University of Melbourne campus is adjacent, making Carlton one of the most walkable inner suburbs.
