We read everything that comes in. Below is the right inbox for the right thing, and what to expect once you’ve sent it.

Editorial — corrections, complaints, story tips

[email protected]

This is the inbox monitored by the editor. Use it for:

  • Corrections — see the full process at Corrections. Tell us the URL, the wrong claim, and the right answer. We respond within two business days.
  • Story tips — a venue we should review, a suburb we’ve underserved, a development we haven’t covered. We don’t pay for tips and we don’t promise we’ll publish; we do read every one.
  • Editorial complaints — we respond personally and we don’t bury feedback. If you think a published piece is unfair, off-base, or misses something obvious, we want to know.
  • Press / media enquiries — for comment from the editor on Melbourne lifestyle, suburb data, or local media topics.

Response target: two business days. Monitored Monday–Friday Melbourne time. Replies come from a named human, not a ticket bot.

Advertising and partnerships

For featured listings, direct-sold display, partnership enquiries, or other commercial conversations: see /advertise/.

Commercial enquiries do not go to the editor inbox and the editor does not have visibility into who has paid. Commercial relationships do not influence editorial coverage or rankings — see the Editorial Standards for the full conflict-of-interest policy.

Postal correspondence

If you need a postal address (for legal service, formal correspondence, or anything that genuinely needs paper), email the editor inbox and we’ll provide one. We don’t list a street address publicly to keep the editor inbox manageable, but the address exists and is honoured.

The masthead

MELBZ is operated by a small editorial team based in inner Melbourne. The contributing writers are listed at /authors/, each with a bio, beat, and history in the part of Melbourne they cover. The editor-in-chief and core editorial board sign off every published article.

We do not publish under generic “MELBZ Editorial Team” bylines. Every piece carries a named human.

What we don’t do via this page

  • We don’t accept guest posts. MELBZ is written by named contributors, not by submitted PR copy.
  • We don’t accept link-insertion requests, link exchanges, or paid backlinks. Requests of this kind are deleted unread.
  • We don’t accept “syndicated” or AI-generated content from third parties for publication.
  • We don’t run sponsored content disguised as editorial. If any paid placement runs, it will be clearly labelled “Sponsored” in the byline and visually distinct from editorial.

Accessibility and feedback on the site itself

If something on the site is broken — a link, a page that won’t load, an accessibility issue, an image that’s mis-described — email the editor inbox and we’ll route it to engineering. We treat accessibility issues as a priority.

Privacy

Email sent to the editor inbox is treated as confidential. We don’t publish reader correspondence without permission. If you’re providing a tip or a correction and want to be acknowledged by name in a published correction note, say so explicitly.

For the full data-handling and cookie policy, see /privacy/ (when published).
