Five places made it onto this page. Four have a Mount Waverley address; the fifth is the Scotchmans Creek Trail, whose council listing address is in Chadstone but whose off-road section passes through Mount Waverley. Keen? Read the section for each, because two of them need a phone call before you turn up.
Prices appear only where a page printed them. The cinema is the one place with a ticket price list we could copy; for the other four we copied no price. The only dated event we found in the sources we checked is the Village event on Saturday 31 October, so it is a later weekend, not this one.

Waverley Cinemas — 41 Centreway, Mount Waverley VIC 3149
Waverley Cinemas is at 41 Centreway, inside the Pinewood Village Shopping Centre. Its site calls it proudly family-owned and independent and a local favourite since the 1970s. The trading-hours page lists Friday to Saturday 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM and Sunday to Thursday 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and the ticket page also lists a group price of $12.00 per person for 15+ people (excluding Special Event Screenings).

Mount Waverley Bowling Club — Cnr Alvie Road and Wadham Parade, Mount Waverley VIC 3149
The club’s site describes it as a growing bowls club offering year-round bowling on tiff grass and synthetic greens. The address it publishes is the corner of Alvie Road and Wadham Parade, with no street number. The site lists Barefoot Bowls on Friday afternoons in February and March, so we have not listed that session as a this-weekend activity.
Plan it: we could not confirm drop-in sessions from the pages we read, so contact the club through mwbc.com.au before you plan around it.
Riversdale Golf Club — 200-280 Huntingdale Rd, Mount Waverley VIC 3149
Riversdale’s site describes the club as the second oldest golf club in Victoria. It has membership, function and corporate-golf pages. Its home page does not state casual public access or hours, so we have not recommended it as a drop-in activity.
Plan it: treat this one as a call-first option and check riversdalegolf.com.au for what the club offers visitors.
Mount Waverley Village Shopping Centre (Hamilton Place / Hamilton Walk strip) — Hamilton Place, Mount Waverley VIC 3149
The Village’s own site says it has almost 200 businesses, and it tells visitors to check individual stores before they go. Its post dates a family event for Saturday 31 October. It promises face painting outside TK Asian Supermarket and roving Halloween performers doing magic, mime, juggling and circus-style tricks. The directory on the site lists traders but is not proof that any one of them is still open, so confirm a shop is trading before you make the trip for it.
Plan it: save Saturday 31 October for the event, check the Village’s post for its session times, and check each shop before you go on any other day.
Scotchmans Creek Trail (shared path) — 23-25 Cole Crescent, Chadstone VIC 3148
The City of Monash describes the Scotchmans Creek shared trail as a 13km on and off-road trail that bisects the municipality into northern and southern sections from Jells Park to Warrigal Road. The off-road trail passes wetlands, Valley Reserve, Fairway Reserve, Oakleigh Public Golf Course, Oakleigh Recreation Centre and Caloola Reserve. The council’s facilities list shows a bike path and a walking track.
Plan it: pick a section by the landmarks the council names, such as Valley Reserve or Fairway Reserve, and make it a wander rather than the full length.
