Browsing and measurement
Cloudflare hosts the new field guide and protects the site. Requests can include network information such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. Operational logs help us diagnose errors and keep the site working.
We use Google Analytics to understand how readers use the site, including page views, guide saves, planner use and outbound merchant clicks. We do not send your saved shortlist or email address as analytics event data. Google AdSense displays advertising on eligible editorial pages. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted.
Read how Google uses information from sites and manage advertising preferences at My Ad Center. Your browser can restrict or delete cookies and site data.
Saved guides
The shortlist is stored on your device using browser local storage. It stays in that browser until you remove saved items or clear site data. There is no account or server-side saved-profile database for this feature.
Affiliate links and other websites
When an active affiliate link is labelled, the destination programme may use cookies or other identifiers to attribute a qualifying booking or purchase. The merchant or network handles its own checkout, customer information and privacy settings. Ordinary external links also take you to websites with their own privacy policies.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to handle your enquiry or correction. Do not email payment details or unnecessary sensitive information. Service providers may process information outside Australia. Contact us to ask about access, correction or a privacy concern. We may update this notice as the site changes.
